Teaching Pastors

“…Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory. It’s that simple. That is the substance of our Message. We preach Christ, warning people not to add to the Message. We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less….” Col 1:26-28 The Message

Kirsten Gardner

Kristen Gardner, Deacon.Kirsten touches many with her deep insights about the ways of God. After graduating from UC Berkley, Kirsten went on to complete her Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology and she is currently a student at Fuller Theological Seminary seeking a doctorate in Old Testament Studies. She loves languages–Hebrew, Greek, English and her native, German. But mostly she loves pursuing a deeper relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through her studies and fervent prayer life.

When Kirsten teaches you hear her love for God and for us. She is committed to the healing ministries and loves sharing her passion for wholeness and growth. Her commitment to empowering the people of God to live transformed lives infuses every aspect of her ministry.

Kirsten’s life is filled to the brim with God’s abundance as a wife, a mother of two, a daughter, a student, a teacher and an avid runner—in her spare time. Eventually, she would like to write a book, but that may have to wait another decade.

Steve Matson

Steve is a highly energetic and creative individual.  He is motivated to bring fresh and new ideas to ministry while keeping a sense of respect, depth, worship, and honor for Jesus.  He loves to think outside of the box when it comes to communicating the gospel.  He has been in ministry for over 20 years in many different roles, mostly in student and family ministries.  He enjoys implementing creative ideas in worship, leading worship, preaching, and teaching.  One of the many things Steve loves about being a part of The Way Christian Fellowship is the wonderful depth and richness within the liturgy of the Anglican tradition.  He is thrilled to be a part of The Way Christian Fellowship to see what God is going to do in the midst of this community.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys playing legos with his son, riding bikes with his youngest daughter, reading poems written by his oldest daughter, and watching movies and eating popcorn (with lots of butter) with his beautiful wife, Adelia.  Translated…Steve loves to hang out with his family A LOT!
